UNICON Executive Director Ken Warner and Edison Applied Technology Principal Matthew Laniak were honored at the September 24th RCSD school board meeting for the “Get Ready for Life” house building program at Edison.

Three students from the "Get Ready for Life" program also attended the meeting and told their stories of success and accomplishment. Since the initiation of the program, attendence, grades and school moral have all skyrocketed.

The room enjoyed a slideshow of the house building progression; from groundbreaking in May to the installation of the second floor roof trusses in September. After the photo show, both the school board and the meeting attendees gave a standing ovation.  

Superintendent Jean-Claude Brizard recognized the partnership as an important initiative for Career and Technical Education in the city school district.
